Eduserv is a not-for-profit IT service organisation. Our mission is to realise the benefits of IT for learning and research. We are dedicated to developing effective technology solutions that meet the needs of universities and colleges and are of value to the wider public sector.
We offer world-leading Access & Identity Management solutions, including the Athens and OpenAthens products and services, which enable organisations to provide learners and researchers with single sign-on access to online resources. Over four million users worldwide currently take advantage of access to protected resources from over 200 providers via these products and services.
Our Licence Negotiation Services team works with our partners in learning and research to deliver preferential terms and conditions for a wide range of software and data product licences. Over 97% of UK institutions benefit from at least one of our Chest agreements, saving the UK academic community a combined £20 million annually on the cost of software and data products.
Our Web Solutions include site hosting, web development, content management and consultancy for the education and wider public sector. We specialise in delivering cost effective and fit-for purpose solutions with an emphasis on customer service. We've helped clients such as the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) and the National Museum of Science and Industry empower their communications with interactive, accessible and user-friendly websites.
Eduserv was founded in 1999 to ensure that assets created through collaborative activities between UK universities were secured for the public good. We now employ over 100 staff at our offices in the World Heritage City of Bath where we aim to provide rewarding careers and a special place to work.
Eduserv is governed by a Board of Trustees who represent the interests of our charitable beneficiaries - learners, researchers and the institutions that serve them. We invest our surpluses in research activities to identify and develop IT-related solutions that address the distinctive requirements of these beneficiaries.
