The program for this event will include some workshop activities to help understanding of copyright, demonstrations of the toolkit and a question and answer session. Those attending the meeting will gain more knowledge about how Copyright law effects them and how to manage the risks associated with using third party resources. In addition, an overview of the Copyright Toolkit will be given and some suggestions about how it can be effectively used by institutions. We would also welcome any feedback or suggestions about how the toolkit can be improved.
The Eduserv funded Copyright Toolkit has recently been completed by Copy-Right Consultants Ltd and is available from: .http://copyrighttoolkit.com/ The toolkit is primarily aimed at people in the education sector whose job involves obtaining copyright clearance for use of third party resources. It is particularly useful to those who have to publish multimedia resources on The Internet and Virtual Learning Environments.
The event is aimed at anyone who needs to make use of other people's digital assets. In particular for people who are involved in the production of multimedia resources. This could include lecturers, librarians, sound and vision technicians and those who deal with negotiations for use of third party copyright resources.
